Attitudes towards HIV in Eastern Zimbabwe

Paulien Hosang FINAL-LSEposter1

Designer  Paulien Hosang worked with Mercy Nhamo to produce this poster that visualises community groups’ attitudes towards people with HIV/AIDS in Eastern Zimbabwe.

Mercy,  Department of Social Psychology says My research overall explores e of grassroots social networks in the reduction of HIV/AIDS stigma in Manicaland. This project involved action research, where I used the UNDPs ‘community conversations technique’ to work with informal social networks (such as women’s groups and youth groups) to develop strategies for fighting stigma, both as individuals and within their groups. I am currently following this research up with a case study of the complex role of churches in addressing stigma in Zimbabwe.
