Attitudes towards HIV in Eastern Zimbabwe
Mercy, Department of Social Psychology says ‘ My research overall explores e of grassroots social networks in the reduction of HIV/AIDS stigma in Manicaland. This project involved action research, where I used the UNDPs ‘community conversations technique’ to work with informal social networks (such as women’s groups and youth groups) to develop strategies for fighting stigma, both as individuals and within their groups. I am currently following this research up with a case study of the complex role of churches in addressing stigma in Zimbabwe.
