Penny Hilton is a documentary film maker and academic. She leads the Graphic Moving Image MA course at the London College of Communication and is also the chief instigator of this Visual Rhetoric project and currently drives the LCC side. Her career spans film, TV production, advertising and graphic design. She has a strong track record of tackling complex issues with clarity and creativity. She has her own production company Mobile Projects where she has produced work for major broadcasters including the BBC and Channel4. She has also worked for the Government, local councils, the Health Service, Metropolitan Police, the Home Office, numerous charities and NGOs. Her work is aimed at government decision making to affect change in policy. Using film and animation the chief purpose of all her work is to give rise to conversation and debate.
She is currently working on a film project called This Is Me about UK Integration and Diversity that aims to build bridges and break barriers between communities. She is also working with health authorities to using film to break down stigma about depression to prevent suicide, this work is in currently in research and preproduction.
